Adopt a puppy !

Before you adopt a puppy, please read the following pages which are quite important:

Questionnaire
Rehoming policy
Donations / what it costs to run a sanctuary...

Puppies   In recent times we have seen a decrease in the number of pups at ASH. Complete litters don't come in as often as in the past. For a young pup it is necessary that someone is at home most of the day! Starting with a young pup doesn't mean that your pup will grow into a well behaved, mannerly dog without flaws or faults. Training is an essential part of rearing a pup. Are you ready for it, does your lifestyle allow for it, not only now but also next year and in years to come? Please, don't expect your children to be responsible for the care of puppy, of course they will promise as they really want this pup. Realisticly you are lucky if they will participate in caring for her/him.

Longene   is one of a litter of 6 that came to us from where they were born. They might have a touch of Lurcher, although we don't know that for sure. The legs look like Jack Russell, the body is long like Dachshund. She is a smooth haired black and white girl.

CocoKildare   is a Terrier cross. He is part of an unplanned and unwanted litter and was causing problems in the housing estate in Kildare town as they weren't fenced in and were on the road at all times. His brother GuinnessKildare was homed within hours of coming in. His brother BlackieKildare is ready for a home as well. They are about 6 months old.

Forest   is a young Labrador cross. She was handed in to us and we were told Forest is a male dog and he is the father of the 4-4months old pups that came at the same time. The 4 pups have been homed since but Forest was not the father of the pups, nor the mother as she gave birth to 9 pups 4 weeks later. She will be spayed when her pups are 13 weeks old and hopefully there will be a super home waiting for her as she is a super mum and dog.

Forest pup 1   says: 'Don't take life too seriously, have some fun'. The pups are having a great time, they are a litter of 9 pups and they have a lovely mum called Forest.

Forest puppies   are so sweet, look at us and then look at our mum Forest, we will probably grow as big as she is.

Forest pup 2   has white feet, all the others are black.
