Directions to ASH

Please excuse these are put up very rough - pick the location you are starting from and take it from there ! ... we will update them to make it easier shortly.

FROM DUBLIN:

--------------------------------------------
Go past the Square in Tallaght direction Blessington (N 81).
Pass through Blessington and continue on the N 81 for
about 17 miles. First you will see a pub called the Olde
Tollhouse on your left. Still keep going on until you come to
a heritage sign (brown) to Dwyer/ Mc. Allister cottage. You
follow those signs. (First one points to the left). After abt.
5 km you will come to a village called Knockanarrigan. At
the crossroad you turn right.(still following the signs for
Dwyer/ Mc. Allister). You will see that you have to go right
once and at the fork in the road take the left. Go past
D/Mc.A cottage and after 1 mile at a sharp bend in the
road to the left you see a narrow road to the right going
steeply uphill. Take that one and you are on our road.[there
is a sign for Rathdangan on the left corner] Follow that
road. First it takes you through the forest, than downhill
where you will see a cemetery on your left, a bit further a
newly build bungalow on your right, further again a
farmhouse on your left which is lower than the road. Go
slowly now because you are almost there. About 60 yards
past the farmhouse you see a lane on your right, we are
just up that lane. Someone will come out and meet you.

FROM BRAY/GREYSTONES/DUN LAOGHAIRE/ etc .

Go on to the N 11 direction Wexford till you come to the roundabout in Rathnew. Take the second exit direction Rathdrum.(you will pass through Glenealy) and bypass Rathdrum. About 1.5 miles past Rathdrum turn right direction Carlow/Aughrim(Roadsign). After about a mile you come into Ballinaclash. Go right across the bridge and immediately left. This road will bring you into Aughrim. At the main crossroad go straight ahead, mind you have to give right of way as you are crossing the main road. At the end of town you have to take a right turn, direction Kiltegan ( straight goes toTinahely) It is a winding road. After 3 miles you pass Cappagh Nurseries. It is another 8 miles to our house now. The road forks 3 x, each time you chose the right fork. Once , in a sharp bend to the left, there is a road going sharply right, direction Glenmalure, ignore it. Never leave this road until you come into Rathdangan. It is small village, so don't pass through it. At the crossroad in Rathdangan you take a right which leads uphill. After you pass a yellow bungalow you will see a lane on the left. Go up this lane, after 30 yards the house is on the right. Please honk your horn to alert us or ring on your mobile and someone will come out to meet you.

Alternatively you could follow the signs for Glendalough, in Glendalough you turn left direction Woollen Mills, go past the Mills and when you have gone over the bridge you turn right for GlenMalure, at the x-roads in GlenMalure you cross straight over and that will bring you to the Aughrim-Baltinglass road, about 8 minutes away from us.
Follow above directions as from: Never leave this road.....etc

--------------------------------------------

approach Castledermot you turn right at the hotel, mind oncoming
traffic, as there is a sharp bend in the road, immediately turn left,
direction Baltinglass. When you come to the T- crossing turn left, in
Baltinglass at the crossroad take a right, it is signposted for
Hacketstown. It will take you through town.Take the first
to the left after you pass the hospital and keep on that
road until you come to a T junction, where you take a right.
